As I was matching photos together for today’s series, I became hypnotized by Julia Gillard’s work. As the photographs started stacking I realized I could never zero in on just one let alone dare match her work with some one else. She has six distinct series on her website and I encourage you to pander on over there and look for yourself. Her eye for street life and snapping that glorious moment when a person and their environment match together effortlessly to form a charged image of symbolism and sadness, is rare. I just missed her show in Brooklyn but will definitely be keeping up with her work… photographer-to-photographer, you just can’t fake an eye like hers.
