John Baldessari, California Map Project 1969

[John Baldessari selected a map of Califronia. He Determined where its printed C.A.L.I.F.O.R.N.I.A. would fall on the real space of the state. Traveling to each location on the map, he painted or made of rocks, yarn, flower seed, wood, etc., a large corresponding letter on the landscape.
